Scenes from David Beck's L'Opera
A few glimpses of David Beck’s L’Opera, the result of 5000 hours of labor dedicated to creation of the most exquisite expression. My feeling of closely observing his carving, for example, is its’ as fluent as Nabokov made prose. These 12 pages present fragments of my gift to have seen L’Opera both in progress and as a completed work of art, and I wish you all to have such an encounter in a lifetime. As a photographer I did my best to see and describe it, and it was better than me,. I failed, even to keep my archive, save for these, to quote Tom Verlaine, souvenirs from a dream.
